Question:
is their a doctor in dallas that does surgery for skin donation?????

I was told their is a doctor in or around dallas that does skin removal for skin donated to burn center!!I had 25 lbs. of skin removed from my stomache in May, but I could use alot of skin gone from my thighs and bulges removed from my hips.I have a rash always,under my breasts is really painful. My insurance company says it is cosmetic, but I have knee and ankle problems, that can't get better if I carry all this excess weight on them.I have alot of back issues due to alot of extra breast tissue, and would like to get it removed also.I have tried to contact the burn center in Galveston, but they only want cadaver skin. This is an urban legand that has been around for many years. It is just a rumor. Our stretched out skin is useless. You can call the burn center (national) and they will verify this. Sorry.

It costs too much to test for hepatitis, AIDs and more for the lmited amount of skin they can get from any one person. This all from a plastic surgeon.

Keep after your insurance company. Appeal. It sounds like you have enough problems to prove it's not cosmetic. Sadly, the burn center thing is a hoax.

the donating skin to a burn center thing is a mith, it is just not so, no one wants our stretched out skin. and no doctor will do a surgery for free. sorry, and good luck to you.
