I don't take faxseed oil, i eat the ground flax seeds, the texture is similar to wheat germ, I put it on my yougurt. I eat it for the fiber, very helpful for constipation and for the fact that it contains omega 3 fatty acids to help my cholesterol levels stay good. As far as L carnitine, I probably wouldn't take something like that my self, I am relying on my balanced very nutritious diet & exercise to lose the weight in conjunction with my little pouch that helps me with portion control.

I don't know about wt. loss or constipation but for artery and vein flexability/pliability. My mother-in-law is 82. She was having multiple TIA (mini strokes) and had 3 major strokes too. She began grinding flax seed and putting it on top of her oatmeal every morning and now for 18 months she has not had another TIA, let along stroke. Her skin is prettier too, everyone who sees her and knew her during her stroke period comments about her improved healthy & youthful look. She also began a natural tx for blood pressure and was able to get rid of the BP medicine, but that is a different story. I think Flax seeds best contribution is for vein flexability.

l-carnitine is an amino acid...a protein. You're probably getting all you need of it in your protein drinks. I'm sure there are other uses, but those I know who used it take it to prevent fever blisters. When my legs were in such bad shape, my doctor had me take it to promote healing. Wish I knew more to tell you!

I have heard of using Flax seed for psoriasis sufferers, if this helps. So it must help the skin. I met this lady who had burned a large portion of her body when she was younger and I couldn't see any scars. She told me she lives on Flax seed. Hope this helps!
