Question:
I have an appt with my pcp what types of tests should i get now that i am post op?

Are there certain tests or blood work that i should be getting as a post op to make sure everything is in check. Like blood sugar etc.    — [Anonymous] (posted on January 11, 2002)

I am just over three months post-op, and my doctor ordered my first round of bloodwork the other day. I didn't look at the sheet carefully, but I did notice "complete metabolic panel" was checked. Hope this helps.

my surgeon doesnt require any blood testing after surgery for a year. & then once a year. but i have other problems so my pcp orders the basic tests that HE needs to take good care of me.

In my first round of blood work, my doctor ordered a CBC, complete lipids, CMP, and B12 and posphate readings... (all of which came out just great on my end) They should contain all of the results your doctor could possably want.. :) but thank goodness they only had to poke me once..
