Question:
I want to know the different protien products avalible..

I have read about protien powders, are there ones with no flavor you can cook with? What about clear liquid protien? And those protien cookies? Could you list what your favorite are? I would loke to have a list I could pick and choose off of. — Missy W. (posted on March 7, 2003)

There is tasteless protein powder you can cook with (you can't boil it ... but you can bake it, or add it to hot but not boiling liquids). One brand is called ProCel, and one place you can get it is vitalady.com.
As far as protein powders go, I recommend you try many brands to find one you like. Again, vitalady.com sells individual samples, as does wlssuccess.com, among other places. My personal favorite is Proscore 100 Chocolate, mixed with cold water.
Ahhh...the protein cookie. MMmmmm. You can get the "Sportcookie" from protocookie.com, or from wlssuccess.com, I believe. I love 'em, but I still use protein shakes as my regular protein supplement (two a day, at nine months out).

Missy, One reason you may not get a lot of answers is that a protein shake that tastes really great to me, you may find awful and vice versa. Also, what you may like pre-op, you may not be able to tolerate post-op. I don't generally use any, but did use ProCel and UpCalD early on. They are both flavorless and I mixed them into Crystal Light. The other poster has a good idea about ordering samples. The ones from www.vitalady.com are one serving and cost about 2 dollars each. It's a great way to try some and see what you'd like to order more of without wasting money on something you discover you hate.

hiya. i suggest getting samples as well. you can order them online from vitalady or go into a health food store/nutritional supplement store and buy a bunch of samples. just read the contents and learn what they mean! i have a list of what i use on my website called "my supplements" and it includes a tasteless soy protein that you CAN cook with. whey breaks down after reaching a boiling point but you can freeze it and you can add it to hot (not boiling) liquids. the best protein is what you will use! i also have a recipe for a high protein peanut butter cookie on my site and i'll be adding one for a high protein oatmeal cookie too. feel free to email me if you ahve any questions. good luck! {{hugs}} kate www.geocities.com/katebme2002
