Question:
Has anyone developed Allergies?

Has anyone develope any food allergies. I dump on shrimp and got a real bad case of hives. This has never happen before..    — Constance S. (posted on February 15, 2002)

I found out in June that I am now allergic to shellfish. I have always eaten them and I miss them terribly. This was three months after my WLS. In the past three years I have found out that I had asthma and was on high dose steroids for two of those three years (60mg a day). I was also on 900mg of Theophyliine a day along with inhaled steroids, long acting inhalers, rescue inhaler, and nebulizer. I, along with my pulmonologist and allergist were very aggressive. I found out I was allergic to a host of things, but was not allegic to shrimp. I take allergy shots. I am now on maintenance. I also keep an epi-pen. But still can't eat those shrimp.
