Question:
When will my energy return?

I'm three weeks pre-op today and heres how my days go. Wake up around 9, check email, sleep two more hours. Wake up check email, eat, sleep more. Think about cleaning, lay on the couch for a while, check email, vacuum the floor, take a nap. Fix dinner. you get the picture. When will my energy return!! I need to clean my house!!!!!!!!! At what point were you able to begin to stay awake all day?    — elifritz (posted on January 16, 2002)

Hi... I hear you about the decreased energy. I am only one week, one day post-op, but I get tired out quickly (granted not as quickly as you seem to be). I showered upstairs yesterday, and was out of breath and had to sit down- who knew that would be an exausting task. I also went for my first outside-the-house walk in the grocery store. I was gone about an hour, got home and slept for six. It is crazy. I am pushing myself, because my dr said the more I do, the faster I'll get better. Maybe try to do a little picking up or something each time you get up? Do a little at a time instead of big bursts. Also, you might want to have your B-12 levels checked. If they are too low, your energy can be minimal. I've also heard that protein and water intake can effect energy levels. Just some ideas...Hope your feeling better soon! :)

I also experienced this when I was 3 weeks post op. I was taking children multi-vites and this did not give me much energy. When I added a small iron pill that I got from Walmart, Sundown brand of Slow FE, I felt much better and got my energy back.
