Print articles/studies/reports from here (and other informative WLS websites) and go in ready to explain the procedures to him and why you think it would benefit you.

Gather as much information as you can on they type of WLS you want to have done, the surgeons in your area that do it and make sure you talk to other people who have had the same procedure done by those Dr.s. Then bring all of this to your PCP and talk with him/her about it.

Find a surgeon and ask them to send you info for your PCP. My sureons office gave me some info tonight for a certain pulmonary doctor who refused to approve me for surgery and tried unsuccessfully to scare me out of surgery. I will visit him once I am down 100 pounds which will be VERY soon and take along my before photo. I want to try to educate him. Your surgeon has doctor type documentation that would be likely better than what is commonly available.
