I had my open BPD on May 9th, and went back to work 13 days later. I am a
playground supervisor at an elementary school and haven't had any problems.
In fact, getting out in the fresh air every day really seems to energize
me. I also started driving again this week, which was great for my sanity!
I know my experience isn't the same as most open surgery patients, but in
my case, prayer, preparation, and a positive attitude really helped me.

I had open RNY on 4-12 and I went back to work last week exactly 6 weeks. I
am on 1/2 days for an additional 2 weeks. I probaly could have gone back at
4 weeks that is when I started feeling human again but I have been with the
same company 21 years and I took advantage of their disability policy since
I havent had one since my daughter was born 18 years ago.

I had open RNY on August 31st and went back 1/2 time on September 18. I
slowly added time and was back to full time by October 1st. I work in an
office and was very lucky because my boss told me to go home if I got
tired.

I had laprascopic RNY & gallbladder removal on Friday and was released
from the hospital on Monday morning. I returned to work that same Monday
afternoon.
