Question:
has anyone had problems with their liver?

I have just been released from the hospital after a very long 1 week stay. The doctors assure me that it IS my liver and NOT my gall bladder. I have had horrible pain in the upper right of my stomach(right at the top of my incesion) I have had numerous test done ie: cat scan, x-rays and blood. My liver enzyems have reached a high of 3.2 (1.0 being normal) The doctors have no answer for me other than my bile is backing up into my liver. Has anyone ever had this problem. The pain is like I said, in my upper right side and also middle back. If anyone has had this problem please contact me. I have had this two times in two months and I wish to get it resolved. I am pre-op, but I just got over a bad time with my liver, the pain was in my right side, and it felt like a stick poking me, and I had a upset stomach. The doctor flushed my liver by taking me off of alot of meds that caused swelling and giving me a large dose of Lasix and a potassium supplement, I had to go the bathroom every 15 minutes but it worked, I would diffentely have the doctor look at my liver numbers and find out what is happening. Hope this helps

You aren't pregnant, are you? I had HELLP Syndrome when I was pregnant and had lots of pain in my upper right side. It is often misdiagnosed and is very serious, so if you might be pregnant, go to the ER. I hope you feel better.
