Question:
Can someone tell me what these are?

I got my bloodwork test results. Everything was fine except for RDW-CV was high at 16.7and BUN/Creatinin was low at 8. I cant find any info as to what these are. Dr is not in. Everything is within the normal range though. Thannks for any help.    — snicklefritz (posted on July 4, 2003)

I do not know what the RDW is, but the BUN is waste from the liver, processed by the kidneys. It can be elevated by a high protein diet or recent excercise, and it also reflects carbohydrate storage. I got that from the internet. I am pre-op, but I have been drinking protein shakes and eating a high protein diet getting ready for surgey, and my BUN was a little high. Hope this helps. I would not worry alot about it, if it were real bad the doctor would probley have called you. So relax and call him when you can.
