Question:
Has anyone experienced problems with seizures or taking seizure medication post-op?

Within the last 10 months I have developed a seizure disorder. I am currently taking Neurontin to control it. I am nervous that WLS will not allow the proper absorption of my medication. Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem?    — Kristina K. (posted on May 24, 2003)

My friend Angela Flewelling (on this site) was discovered to have a Epilepsy when she was about 1 year post-op. You could email her and ask her about her experience. She would be more than happy to help out! Good luck.

Hi there, I take Depakote, an anti-seizure med, although I take it for bi-polar and not epilepsy. My psychiatrist checks my level frequently to make sure I am absorbing it properly. So far, I have not had any problems. I used to take it all in one dose at night, now I take it throughout the day to aid in absorption. Good luck.
