Question:
Has anyone had tthe DS? HOW ARE YOU?

I had a DS in Oct. 2001 with Dr. Pomp at Mt. Sinai in NYC. I reached my goal WT 3/17/03--in just under 18 months. I went from 304 lbs to 145 lbs. I feel fine, can eat anything. Any other questions, see my profile here on AMOS or email me privately.

I had open DS on August 12,2002 by Dr Terry Simpson. I could not be happier. I am now 7 1/2 months post and down 105 pounds. I am blessed. E-mail me if you have any questions!

I had the DS done on Sept 12,2002..I have lost 95 lbs. I can eat almost anything.

I had DS with Dr. Baltasar in Spain on 6/5/02. I started at 260 lbs and 5'7". I'm now down at least 110 lbs and wear a size 6/8...down from a size 24.

I had DS surgery April 10, 2002. I have lost 145 pounds, Look and feel great. I can eat everything and am a very happy person these days. My surgeon, I feel, is the best, Daniel Herron at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC.

Hi, I had the DS done in Ohio with Dr. Hess and Oakley. It was one of the best decisions I ever made, and the DS was definately the surgery for me. I had my surgery on Nov. 25th, 2002 and I have lost 70lbs. so far...I can eat pretty much whatever I want, and have no problems with vomiting or the "runs"! I have had my extensive blood work done twice since surgery and my numbers are great. For instance my total Cholesterol went from 389(pre-surgery, on meds.) to 133 :) Good luck!

I had the DS on 10/8/01 and have lost 150 pounds so far. My life is better in so many ways I cannot even describe. My high blood pressure is no more. My high blood sugar is no more. My knees and ankles don't hurt. I don't need a seatbelt extender when I fly. My 13 year old son can actually hug his mom and get his arms all the way around!! I look a bit like a shar pei, but life is like that. I am feeling 100% better at 50 than I did at 40. Good luck to you!

I had my surgery 4-11-01 with Dr. Herron. I'm WONDERFUL and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Can't believe it's 2 yrs already. Dropped 110 lbs and over 60"
