Wal-Mart has a good selection of products at reasonable prices. I personally have used Herbalife products since day one. I think the quality of pre-digested soy protein and added vitamins has worked for me. I use the vanilla (the sugar-free, Herbalife Thermojetics line) blended with 8-12 oz. of sf Koolaid or Crystal Lite and 1/2 banana for breakfast every day, then every two hours or so I have a small amount of something - a Herbalife protein bar, or 1/3 cup of cottage cheese, or yogurt, or V-8 drink, or 1 oz. cheese and 2 or 3 crackers, etc. This has worked for me. My labs are excellent - in the normal to high range. Sunday will be my 11 month anniversary for open RNY. I've lost 125 lbs., never to be "found" again! That is, as long as I keep up this new lifestyle which includes walking/running 3 times a week for 45 minutes and resistance/weight training 3 times a week. I'm happy to tell you that I'm scheduled for a panniculectomy and breast reduction on January 3 - I hope NEVER to see another surgeon after that! I know you hear it a lot, but you must be sure to drink LOTS of water, even if you can only sip it at first. Focus on protein and only protein. You'll eventually work other foods into your diet. I'm a firm believer in supplements, as they've worked so well for me. This is a great new life! I'm down from 293 to 168 lbs., into a "regular" size 14 (not Women's size), have lost 125 lbs. and having a ball! Good luck! Lili

I order my protein shakes from www.healthierways.com. I like the Keto shakes. You can see the label right there and they have tons of flavors. My favorites are the Cappucino and the Banana Cream Pie. Good Luck!

Hi...vitalady.com is great for protein supplements and other items; you can also order samples of a bunch of different types to see what you like. I also get protein soups from pwlc.com sometimes (but they're WAAAAY expensive I think; vitalady's prices are better). Vitaminshoppe.com also has a big variety. Best of luck!

I get my Flinstones Chewables w/ Iron from the local grocery store and my sublingual B12 from GNC. I was also getting my Isopure Zerocarb protein powder from GNC, but have found a site where I can get it cheaper - http://www.powerhouse-supplements.com/perzercaris2.html I will be getting it from there from now on. As far as calcium, I get it from either Walmart or Target... either one has it and it is reasonably priced. Good luck on your up and coming surgery!!!

I ordered a HUGE tub of chewable vitamins from Vitalady.com and they're much cheaper than in the store. As for the shakes, you may wish to hold off. Your appetite will change immensely after WLS, so something you may like now would just gross you out after. I ordered some samples from vitalady, but have still not used them, as I get my protein in through food and Alba shakes which taste great! They have samples for $1.50 so you could order a few, and try them after surgery and then order full size if you like them. Also try GNC, they have some yummy pre-bottled drinks. Good Luck!

I got on the internet and found health food sites and asked for samples. I went through a few before I found one that I really liked. Then I ordered it through the net, (much cheaper). But if you drink it every day, you want something yo;u like. Things taste very different after surgery than before so experiment before you by a big tub of something you have to fight to get down. I found one I really like. "American Whey" but everyone is different so I suggest trying samples.

It's a shame that this site doesn't adopt the rule that the Graduate-OSSG yahoogroups has - "Under no circumstances may anyone promote commercial products in which they, or other list members, have a personal financial stake."
Personally, I get so tired of people trolling along and answering every post they can to promote products that they are a distributor for.
I guess it's some peoples way to make back all the money that they spent on sure-fire diet stuff prior to having this surgery...JR

or maybe we just want to share what we feel are the best products available. sure we stand to gain $$ from it. but if you look at my post you'll notice that i said you could get it from ANY distributor. we're giving them at OUR cost so were not making hardly ANYTHING on these. like i said we just wanted to share. im sorry you took it the wrong way.

I personally have bought things from WLS Success and from Walmart most often, sometimes GNC if I feel like a bottle of isopure or something since I work right by them.....lol I would suggest samples, things don't taste the same after surgery, and lots of protein drinks and bars can be really icky tasting!

One of the most informative people on this site, Susan Maria, has a great website and carries tasty products for us that have the proper nutrition plus Vista bariatric vitamins. It is the best website that I have found for weight loss post ops. There are samples for sale so you can try before you buy and lots of delicious recipes too. Check out www.BariatricEating.com and you will be pleased.
