Most Dr recoment 2 flintsones with iron for a multi vitamin and 2 tums daily. This should be enough . I also take a b12 tablet that melts under the tonque . Good luck - if in doubt call your drs office :-) but what I just told seems to be the norm - take care ok

This will be enough at first. When tummy heals you will prob need to switch to calcium citrate. Better for the bones.

You should be getting this info from your surgeon. I know different surgeries make it more difficult to absorb certain products. He will know what works best for you. I will be having open-RNY on 6-18. I need to take B-12 500mcg, Elemental Iron 90-110mg, 2400mg Calcium and 1 multi vitamin. Hope this helps!

Definitely switch to the citrate. The tums are no good for us, if anything they are bad for us, they encourage kidney stones. We do not have the acid to break down the cacium for absorbtion. There are calcium citrate options for you. If you can't swallow a big pill right now there are chewable wafers and Citrical makes a liquitab that dissolves in liquid, effervescent, and has an orange flavor.
