Question:
11months post having alot of dizziness???

I am 11 Months post and having a lot of dizziness, I know that it could possibly be I am not getting in enough liquids, I seem to have a large problem with that, and just don't know what else to do. Thank you so much for your help. Shelly    — ShellyJ (posted on March 3, 2005)

There are actually several things that could be causing your dizziness. I did that when I was post-op and it was due to my blood pressure dropping too low, so I had to have my b/p meds discontinued. The best way to find out what's going on is to visit your doctor and have them check you out. Good luck!

It sounds like you may be in line to have some blood work done and check in with the Dr. Many things cause dizziness for GBP patients - low blood pressure, low blood sugar, low B12, low potassium ... the list goies on. Once you go to the Doc, you will know how to adjust your vitamin and nutrition intake. As for liquids, they come in many forms. Ice pops count according to my dietician. The same thng happened to me about 4 days ago. EXTREME DIZZINESS! I called my doc's office and talked to the bariatric coordinator. She says that that was the sign of dehydration in WLS patients. I guess she was right b/c now I keep water with me wherever I go and haven't been dizzy since. Hope this helps.

I'm a year and a half out and I suffer from the exact same thing only in my case it is because i am anemic now. It especially happens right before and during my menstral cycle.. so have you dr. check your iron level

there could be several of reasons causing dizziness so you really should consult with a dr...I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia around 11 months post op so you might want to have your blood sugar checked....

i just went to the doctors this past week and i was having dizzy spells and headaches, irritability and my eyes were doing weird things, well anyways my doctor told me i have hypoglycemia and gave me a meter to watch my suger level and make sure it doesn't go to low. i have to eat at least every 1 to 2 hours but my eating are very small about 100 to 150 calories a meal. now that i eat more often i'm not as hungery or crave carbs. i also found out that i can't handle very many carbs a day. i'm starting to know when my sugar goes down then i just grab some protien. i also upped my protien to at least 100 grams. my weight lose had stalled for a while and in the last week i've lost 3 pounds.oh i will be 1 year out of surgery this march31. write back anytime if you have any questions and i'll try my best to help you out.
