Question:
What causes this stomach pain?

Every night I wake up with severe upper stomach cramping which usually lasts 2-3 min. The pain is almost under my rib cage, in the middle of my upper stomach. Usually occurs around 3 a.m. Any ideas? Thanks.    — Rhonda S. (posted on January 26, 2002)

I am with the other poster......maybe your gallbladder?.The pains I had made me feel like I was having a heart attack....I was so scared.....I had lost weight, and due to the yo-yo dieting I have been through whole life, along with, at the time a current weight loss of about 40 pounds, my body reacting by having gallstones. That was in 1998......I also ending up vomitting in the mornings, green though, but thought I was pregnant. That was in 1998. Since then I have had a son (1999) and gained about 80 pounds, current weight around 360 hoping to have surgery this year.......the pain of birth was less than that of the gallbladder......GOOD LUCK and please see a doctor!
