Question:
Is the drug Lamisil safe to take 3 weeks before Gas.Bypass.surgery?

I got a kitten for my son & it had ringworm.My son & I both got it.I went to the Dr.yesterday & he gave me a prescription for Lamisil.My surgery is 11-30-04.I will finish the prescription 4 days before surgery.Can anyone PLEASE tell me if it is safe to be taking before surgery???    — skyblue _. this is a question that must be addressed to your doctor. Only he/she can tell you if it is safe. Topicals don't just sit on the surface of the skin, they are absorbed thru the skin into the bloodstream as well. Never assume that a topical will not interfere with or react to another drug with out verifying it with your own doctor. When you are in surgery you are given a number of drugs and it is only fair to your surgeon to let him or her make the decisions to whether or not you are safe.
