Debbie, It DOES get better. I felt the same way at your stage and I'm now 5 weeks post op and have "bouncing off the walls" energy. I even posted when I was 3 weeks out complaining of exhaustion. Now I feel like I could run a marathon. Lisa A, 5 weeks post -36 lbs.

I think this is perfectly normal, it took me months before I didn't get lethargic in the middle of the day. The pain is gas by the way...Make sure you are taking your vitamins and getting in liquids...if you are dehydrated or deficient in vitamins, you will also feel very tired. Try to get in some extra protein too! Surgery 7/16/02....253.5 # Now 149 #

It's normal. I was tired until I could add shaved turkey and fish to my diet. I haven't found a protein drink that I can tolerate, so fish and turkey are my main source of protein. You'll find that once you increase your protein, you'll have more energy. Good Luck!

Started off here on clear liquids for a week, then to full liquids for two weeks, and then to pureed foods for a month. It wasn't until I began to eat a little (operative word 'little')cooked cereal and scrambled egg that I felt my energy level rise. We are literaly starving at first. It takes time before we are able to eat enough to get nourished. Find a protein powder and make shakes/smoothies. That is the ONLY way I could get in adequate protein. I buy a Pure Whey Isolate that is 'tasteless'. No sugars, no fat. Be sure you are doing the SUBLINGUAL (under the tongue) B-12. At first I was taking mine with water. I am almost 8 mos out and down 160 lbs. Open RNY.

My nutritionist said that the postop complaint of being tired is usually tied to a B12 deficiency. How about adding some sublingual B12 to your regimen?
