Question:
Will an abnormal esophageal motility test prevent me from having surgery?

I had a barium swollow, with abnormal results. Then I had an upper endoscopy. Now i have to go for esophageal motility test, and I'm terrified that abnormal results will prevent me from having surgery.    — Dana S. (posted on May 13, 2003)

I don't know if it will prevent the surgery, but I know that can be a problem after. There are prescriptions to help with this, so maybe you'll still be ok for surgery. Good luck!
