Question:
Tummy tuck after EACH 100lbs????

I had open RNY on 9/20 and am down 90 lbs. I have a great big bunch of globby skin hanging all over and work it as hard as I can but ..... well suffice it to say naked ain't pretty : ) Anyway I was talking to a friend of mine that said she heard that you should have a tummy tuck every 100 lbs. So AMOS family tell me your thoughts on this. What have you heard. I am anxious to have it all removed but I don't want to do it to early I still have about 80 lbs to go. Thanks everyone. If you are fortunate enough to get insurance to cover it they are not going to pay for doing it more than once. Wait until you are done losing.

The plastic surgeon who spoke to our group said he won't do it till you reach your goal and/or get within 10-20 pounds of it and maintain that weight for 4-6 months. He says he does this to get the best results.

I certainly wouldn't plan to go through the pain and recovery more than once if I could help it. I had a full abdomoinoplasty with work to the muscles. I had a HUGE scar to heal, I didn't feel even up to driving until week 5 of recovery, couldn't lift anything until week 8 or 9 (I think?). Anyways we're talking a MAJOR surgery. Do it once when you're either to goal or to a place where your situation gets to the point where you feel you can't live with it anymore. Thats my advise. I had mine done while still heavy but it was necessary. IF I have to redo it at some point I would, but not unless I HAD to absolutely.
