Question:
Full all the time

I am suppose to be on full liquids and eat at 7am 11am 3pm and 7pm. However I feel full all the time. I am not hungry. How much should I eat at each meal since I feel full. Any comment will be appreciated.    — Jennifer V. (posted on November 2, 2002)

According to your profile you just had your surgery on Oct. 29 th, congratulations! At this stage you probably will not feel hungry at all. Your pouch is swollen and doesn't hold much. Just concentrate on drinking your water and other sugar-free liquids, taking your vitamins, and drinking your protein shakes (if you can tolerate them). If you feel you want to try and eat just do 1-2 0z every 3 hours for now. I lived on nonfat light yogart and had my protein powder mixed with sugar-free Tang or Crystal Lite for the first month. My surgeon stressed the importance of getting in at least 70 grams of protein and 64 oz of water a day from the beginning to hasten healing. The protein did not have to come from food (at that point). Liquid predigested protein, protein shakes, protein powder mixed into soups, all these will get the job done. Good luck, you'll do fine and before you know it your tummy will start saying "feed me".
