Question:
Vitamin Help!

I am 2 months post-op. My Dr. told me to take "VistaVitamins",(capsules) but it says to take 4 in the morning with food and 4 in evening with food. How do take them with food, if I have to wait 30 min before and after a meal to drink?? I do take two chewable Bugs Bunny vitamins a day. I take them when I can drink water, but does the water wash the nutrients from them away? And, is this enough vitamins? Also, I have not lost hair yet, but is there anything you can do to prevent the hair loss? Thank you very much! Love ya! -- Marsha Evans    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on March 23, 2002)

Hi Marsha. My physician put me on potassium supplements that require being taken with a full 8 oz. of water AND with food. He assures me that taking them 30-60 minutes before eating or after eating is fine. I use Bugs Bunny S/F chewables too but I also add several additional supplements like calcium citrate, iron and B-12 to make sure I'm getting enough of what my body needs. Best of Luck!

My surgeon gave me a prescription for Trinsicon, which is a vitamin supplement that includes B12. You might ask your surgeon about it. I also have 2 Centrum chewables each day and a Viactiv for calcium. I'm only 2.5 weeks post-op, so I haven't added anything bigger yet. Don't want to push my luck! LOL

For optimal absorption try isotonic (predigested) liquid vitamins. They are about 95% absorbable within 5-10 minutes! The best vitamin by far! For more info email [email protected]
