Question:
I have the flu and strep throat!

My Dr gave my liquid amoxicillin for my strep throat but he seemed unsure about what to give me. It does not seem to be working and my gastric bypass Dr is out of town!    — scalifemme (posted on May 8, 2009)

Sometimes it takes the antibiotics a day or two to begin working. The amoxicillin should do the trick, but if not you need to call your primary care doctor back and tell them so. Your bariatric surgeon will most likely refer you back to your primary care physician, anyway. Hang in there! And I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. :(
