Hi, Cristina! I went from 322 to a pre-op 296 to post-op 135 seven years ago. I didn't need a tummy tuck because that's not where I carried my weight, but I did get an upper arm tuck, a boob tuck and a chin tuck. One of the things my plastic surgeon was a stickler for was keeping a stable weight after surgery. He said that if you want a nice "job" you need to let your skin and muscles rest afterward. He backed that up with lots of science, but that was the gist of it. But I guess my answer would depend on your situation. If your tripping over your excess belly skin (hoo-boy, that was quite an image I pulled up there! NEVER MIND!! :-D ) ***LET'S START OVER***. Ahem! If you find your situation vis-a-vis your stomach absolutely intolerable, then maybe you could talk to a plastic surgeon about a tuck with a revision if needed? Otherwise--hey, you've been hauling that belly around for how many years now? You're in a great place and you're ALMOST THERE!!!! Have just a little more patience and get a better, safer result. Find a good doctor and have him or her help you. Whatever you decide, all the best to you!!! XXOO Jay

Cristina, Who is "they"? Find a good plastic surgeon who specializes in working with the formerly obese and talk to them. Actually, interview more than one plastic surgeon. I spoke with a well known PS from Houston this weekend at a WLS conference and although I am still slightly over 200, he said I might not be too far from goal as actually the extra skin might weigh enough that it's removal would get me to goal. Go visit some PS's or their websites and see what they think.
