IT MIGHT BE A HERNIA. CALL YOU DOC AND LET HIM KNOW. I HAVE THAT AS WELL,AND HAVE NOT HAD MY SURGERY YET BUT AFTER MY C-SECTION,MY DOC SAID IT MIGHT BE A HERNIA. BETTER TO BE SAFE THEN SORRY. MAYBE HE CAN SPEAK TO YOU OVER THE PHONE???

It sounds like a hernia. I had one the size of a softball. When I had my emergency small bowel obstrction in January they repaired it. It's back. When it's repaired you are still at 90% chance of reherniating. A tummy TUCK lowers that to 10%. Unfortunately MOST insurance do not cover a tuck or a repair. A hernia is not life threatening. Call your MD. Good Luck. Sonja San DIego, CA (open RNY 9/04 - 336/282/163)

How long ago was your surgery? Right after mine I had what sounds like you are describing from where they took my tubing or whatever you call it out. I was lopsided for a month or so. But if it's been over a few months I would call your doc. Good Luck!

I have a hernia that sounds similar. Standing up it's hard. Laying down, it's less noticable unless I take a deep breath. When I do, it gets firm and pooches out.

Sounds like a hernia to me. But just an FYI they could become very serious. I work with a gentlemen who had one and he left it untreated for a year, you could actually see it popping out of his shirt, it was about 12" long. His doctor told him it could have killed him because it can strangle there testicles.
