Question:
Any relief for the runs....

I had lap ryn Mon. Starting yesterday I have had the opposite from what I've been reading. I have the runs and are not constupated.... Does anyone know what I can do for that. I can't be in the bathroom every 5 minutes... Thanks    — Nikkijo30 (posted on September 14, 2007)

I had the same thing after my surgery. I was told it was because they had handled my intestines and they were irratated. It did stop but I have never found a happy medium. One week I willhave really, really loose stools and the next week I will have constipation from hell. Your body is going to go through a bunch of changes and it willtake a while for things to work themselves out. Good Luck!

Yes, I had the same thing after my surgery. Everything was exploding out the back of me! Eating fat free yogurt helped, alot!

I had lap-RNY on 8/27 and had the same problem. My surgeon was surprised and said to take some liquid Imodium to get it under control. His fear was dehydration from the rapid fluid loss. Also, I was drinking decaff ice tea , watered down but I believe that it was partly to blame. I quit the tea and took 1 small does of the Imodium and everything is normal now. Good luck! Joanna J

No cramping, that's good. Very funny Lou, lol I'll try the Imoudim and see if that works. Thanks! I do drink 8oz of skim milk with my protein supplement. I do take alittle gas-x because I can't make myself burp....
