Question:
A friend suggested a "Health Closet" similar to our clothes exchange
Recently we had a friend on here that was in need of protien and asked for our help. Many of us have protein that we aren't using because it does not sit right with our stomachs or it doesn't go past or "new" tastebuds. This friend in a message to me said we should have a health closet on here so we could help other people that may be in need or just need to sample a different kind of protein before putting out all that money buying a supply of it. I usually pass my "leftovers" to other pre-ops. It is expensive
to send it anywhere:)

Short of the expense of shipping costs I think it would be a great idea. I
don't know how much money I have wasted trying something and realizing that
I just can't tolerate it. I would have loved to be able to sample someones
left overs or have someone to give my stuff to so that I don't feel so
guilty throwing it away. I know that OH has a clothing exchange program so
I don't see why not...

Regarding shipping, if the receiver would pay for the shipping, that would
make it fair to the person giving it that has already spent the money on
it. I, for one, would LOVE to be able to get what others aren't able to
use and would be more than happy to pay postage on it!! Please let me know
if you have some things and would like to work out something.
There are also boxes at the post office that are priority shipping and flat
rate, meaning anything you can put into the box is one set price to ship.
If anyone has items they would like to share, please contact me. I am pre
WLS and have purchased a couple sample packs of protein, but would like to
have more to try. I have a bit of a challenge with this as I can't consume
nutra-sweet as I get migraines from it. So, if anyone can recommend good
products with splenda or other sugar alternatives, please let me know!

I think this is a great idea! Shipping could be a problem, but it's still a
good idea. Maybe someone could start a new group and then people could just
post stuff in there. Just a thought....

I too think this is a great idea. I am a pre-op and would love to sample
other protein and etc. I think if the person wanting to try the items
maybe should pay the postage for what they are receiving. I'm in if anyone
else is.

Hi! it is a good idea..I belong to a free recycle program in my area... the
idea is to keep usable items out of land fills...perhaps people can post
what they have...and someone local can use it. Then no shipping. Just a
simple car ride to meet someplace public. But I would suggest not having
it be on this particular site......Just a thought. Hugs, Kim
