Question:
Tummy tuck swelling

I had my tt 7 days ago, 1 drain out and my other drain is starting to slow down, but bam on the 7th day now my tummy is extremely swollen!!!! I look 5 months preg. and feel 9 months very tight and swollen not much pain. Any advice would be great. Rhen    — Rhen (posted on April 6, 2006)

Call your surgeon and se what he/she says. They get lots of calls so don't worry about bothering them, just don't wait till midnight to call!

yap I know what you mean. I am a slow healer and I was very tight all around my TT area for aty least 1 year. The swollen area will get better, give yourself sometime. I had my TT in 1999 and it is ok now no more tightness and it looks awesome. You need to be patient. Dani

Rhen! I hope you have contacted your doctor and have been seen by now. I know NOTHING about PS and the tummy tuck, but I would think sudden swelling should be addressed by a doctor, even if he only tells you it's nothing. Better to hear it from a doc than wait and guess. Dina

I was swollen for a couple of months...are you wearing a (on no..my mond is slipping on what the name of it is...) the wide elastic thing with the velcrow enclosure...BINDER!!! I had to look that up....or a compression garment. I could not function for the first month w/o my binder. It also helped SO much with keeping the swelling down. When I was up about about w/o it I felt like a baloon ready to pop. I would also call your PS...if he is like mine he will have no issues with you calling with questions. Take care, Julie
