Question:
Does anyone out there know how I can get plastic surgery with no insurance?

I have recently changed jobs and have lost my insurance. I can't afford to go out and lay down thousands of dollars for plastic surgery. Considering going to Mexico. I have lost 180 lbs and have a lot of loose skin. Especially need to get the stomach and breasts done. I am starting to look like my grandmother and can roll my boobs up like a cigar!!! Inside joke from my family. Oh and the other kicker is, I don't have any credit!!!! Help!!    — Vikki U. (posted on December 2, 2010)

As you know, plastic surgery procedures are very expensive. In most cases, insurance will not pay for them because they are considered cosmetic. Insurance will sometimes pay if there is a problem such as the skin under breasts or overlapping stomach staying moist and causing sores due to lack of staying dry. There really is no way to have this surgery done without cash, credit or insurance. Your best bet is to hang in there and wait until you have a new job that offers insurance. This is probably not what you want to hear, but it is fact. You have done an awesome job of loosing your weight and improving your health, congratulations! Give it some time, and a way will be shown to you! Bonnie

In my area we had a burn unit that needed skin donations so they started paying wls people to save their skin removed and donated. I'm not sure if they r still doing it but u can try to find out. The hospital is called Jackson Memorial in Miami,FL. U can google it. I'm not sure who u would talk to cuz most people have no idea about it but anyone close to the burn unit will know. Hope this helps.

I have medical insurance but plastic surgery is considered cosmetic and is not covered at all. Wish it was.

I wish I could help. My insurance will pay for mt stomach to be done but they wouldn't pay for the girls to be done. I've lost 170 lbs, I know exactly what you are talking about.

With Ons not really paying for much plastic surgery my advice would be to start building your credit! Start with the prepaid cards where ou have to deposit so much into a savings account and that amount becomes your limit.. Just to start establishing some kind of credit! Or contact a credit counselor and get advice there. We would all LOVE to have plastic surgery with no money, credit, or insurance!!! But thats just not really reasonable. I need some work done right now as well. Lost 160 lbs so we are all in the same boat! :P And we can all relate.

Have you considered contacting a medical school? That was how I was able to get my lapband surgery done via Medicare. Marti in San Jose

Undortunately Plastic Surgery is nt covered by health insurance. The best way to obtain it is by saving, selling/ponding jewelry etc.......I don't know of any other creative ways to obtain funds to pay for plastic surgery.

Some plastic surgeons offer a line of credit. I think it is called Care Credit (or something similar to that).

There is a group called Drssayyes.com. I think. They finance surgery. They approve everyone and the down payment is based on your credit history.
