My surgeon had told me not to start the calcium for at least a month after surgery, maybe even two or three. Try taking just the multi to see if it makes you sick alone.

Most of us have gone through issues taking vitamins soon after surgery. I've never taken the brand chewables you are taking so I'm not sure if there is any sugar in them. Even a small ammount of sugar so soon after surgery makes some run to the bathroom. I was lucky and just had an upset feeling in my stomach with my Flintstone Complete chewables. You'll tollerate them more as time goes by. Take them when you can and don't fret about it when you cannot...that's what my surgeons office told me.

my clinic recommends flinstones chewables right out of the gate and calcium chewables also. Citrical. Make sure you are taking calcium citrate and not carbonate as it won't absorb as much or as easy in our new systems. Try taking the vitas with food. They are harsh on the belly. I tried a liquid vita and it gagged me awful . I felt as tho I would get sick, but never did. I only took it a few times and found that with food my stomach felt better. I am 17 months out and have good labs always. Best of luck to you and Hugs, kim

Bariatric Advantage, available online, makes vitamins specific to the different kinds of surgeries. They are well tolerated (most are chewable or sub-lingual) and tasty. I've tried several other brands, but these are my favorites. Call them and ask for some samples to see how you do.

I found calcium citrate in a liquid form at the health food store. it is citrus flavored and when I mix the tablespoon with a swallow of diet cranberry juice - it is perfect!

Try sucking the tab until they dissolve completely. When you chew them, you are swallowing too much at once, and that is what makes you feel sick. Any chewables are suckable. I use chewable vit and minerals as well as calcium.
