Question:
Can anyone tell me how long after surgery you get rid of the gas.

I am 4 days out and I can here the gas just moving but nothing is coming out. I feel so bloated any suggestions?    — biggirl1977 (posted on July 10, 2009)

It took me 4 or 5 days for it to start. I was taking miralax, suppositories, and enemas. Sorry for the info, but it was when I was finally able to have a bowel movement that the gas started coming out. The pain was awful up to that point. Good luck...its tough right after surgery, but trust me, it gets better and its worth it!

As soon as I weas able to go to the rest room the gas came out. It is hard right after surgery, but it gets better. walking helps to. I walked as much as I could and it helped alot.
