I can drink 1-2 glasses of wine, or sip on a shot I have even had a martini very very slowly...but it all hits you very very fast...I had 4 glasses of wine in just over 2 hours and was not good...just be really really careful, binge drinking is a thing of the past, sip sip sip very very slowly and I would sugges no more that 1-2 drinks at an outing..

I drink a couple of glasses of wine a week, I also have had a martini or two. I have not had any side effects, but then again I can eat almost anything I want without any side effects, I think the thing you have to remember is that alcohol is just wasted calories, so decide when and how much you might like to try.

Right now I am sipping a rum and coke. I am 2 months post-op and it really doesn't have a different affect on me. I have a lap-band so I really do not want alcohol to errode my band so I might do this once a month. It's empty calories and i really need to work on dropping the habit.

I'm going on my third year post-op and find that I can drink anything, but "feel" the effect much quicker! It would be easy to gain this way too, so be cautious...

crystal light sugar free fruit punch and captain morgans or Malibu coconut rum! yum yum, everyone loves this drink! I buy the little powder packs that make two liters, you can use crystal light or the walmart brand is just as good or better! No sugar and it tates great!

I had gastric by pass 8 months ago. I make sugar free jello shots with Vodka when I want a drink. They digest easy and low calories.I tried wine and I had bad heart burn.
