Start eating breakfast it's the most important meal of the day. You need to fuel up in the morning. I eat cottage cheese with fresh fruit and truvia or splenda. Whole grain toast with peanut butter. Scrambled eggs with cheese turkey bacon. Deli meat with cream cheese in the middle. Hard boiled eggs, string cheese. Anything with protien, I've been known to eat dinner leftovers for breakfast.

I'm pretty much a "same thing every morning" type of gal. But, it's high protein, and I like it, and I don't get tired of it. I scramble up one serving (1/4 cup) of EggBeaters Original with 1 slice of Great Value Fat Free Turkey Breast lunch meat from WalMart (diced up), and about 2 medium-sized fresh mushrooms diced up fine, and 15 grams of Weight Watcher's 4-Cheese Mexican shredded cheese) all mixed together. I also have 1/2 a banana (for potassium content), and 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries with Splenda on them (for carbohydrates). I eat that probably 25 days out of 30. The other days, I eat a bowl of the new Fiber One Caramel Delight cereal with 1 cup of Blue Diamond Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk, or one package of Kashi Go Lean instant Oatmeal, with maybe a few blueberries mixed in (high in fiber). But, I watch out for the cereal and oatmeal, because they're much higher in carbs than I like (I try to keep my carb intake to 50 or below per day, and I usually like to eat them in the form of vegetables or fruits). Although grains are okay, they just have to be whole grains, not refined.

I am over a year post op and had the same issues as you. I am on thyroid medication and can not eat for one hour after I take it. In order to get the much needed protein and nutrients in the am I would drink a protein (EAS Whey) shake with skim milk first thing in the morning. It wasn't until nearly 8 months post op that I could get down solids ie; scrambled eggs, and cottage cheese with fruit. Now generally I still throw in a protein shake because I am busy in the am, go to the gym and by the time I get home am ready for an egg roll up...YUMMM. I use 1/4 cup egg beaters, 2tbs cheddar cheese, some cut up grape tomatoes, and 2 strips of precooked bacon and roll it in a low cal whole wheat wrap. It fills me up until a light snack (yogurt) then dinner.

I drink Chai protein drink from Bariatriceating.com during the week. On the weekends, 2 eggs with 2 oz cheese on top. Good luck. Hugs Jane

Same as the first poster, Susan - that's pretty much been my MO for the last 6 months. Sometimes I'll have a protein shake w/ Fruit and a hard boiled egg, but my staples are one hard boiled egg w/ a little ham and cheese (can't do scrambled w/o cheese - makes me really nauseous) or cottage cheese w/ melon or some other fresh fruit. Every so often I'll have a very thin potato pancake w/ sour cream (or fage )%) and smoked salmon - love this - or even just a piece of leftover salmon from dinner the night before (a la Dr. Perricone), and have been known to even eat some thin-crust pizza w/ veggies on it, but only 1 piece and I'll trypically have a protein shake maybe an hour after. I eat about 3-4 oz every meal, about 5-6 meals a day, depensing on how active I am. I hit goal before I hit a year out and am doing great! Good luck!

I eat a yogurt parfait and it is approved by my dietician. One package of carbmaster yogurt, a few blueberries and top with a tiny bit of plain granola. They are like the parfaits you could get at McDonalds. You may not be able to eat a whole one. I struggled with what to eat at breakfast too. Good luck.

I have the hardest time eating in the morning. I always have. Now... it is almost like the surgery is an excuse not to eat in the morning! Of course, I know that isn't the way to go. I always get down my protein shake. I am IN LOVE with Bariatric Fusion because it comes in a ton of flavors and I have to have variety. It is also high protein (27 g) and low fat/no sugar. No, I don't work there. I mix mine with soy milk (not into dairy and my dietitian told me I wasn't getting enough fat in my diet) and try to toss some fruit in for breakfast. That is usually all I can manage. It replaces my morning latte and gives me what I need to hit the gym or get to the barn to work my horses. Then I eat breakfast for lunch. I love an egg sunny side up on a crustini or an egg white omelette with spinach and tomato. My body just isn't really ready to deal with hard foods until around 12 or 1 and my dietitian doesn't think there is a problem with that as long as I rock out my protein shake in the mornings.
