Question:
What vitamins do I need to make my hair quit falling out? I'm 1 year post-op.

You need to have 50 to 60 grams of protein a day and if you work out then you need 90 grams is what I'm told. I'm not one that is very good with smell or taste but I buy the Super Whey protein shot drinks at Walmart and they have 26g's in them. I chill them and it does the job along with eating right. Oh, I also take my equate multi-vitamin chewables. Good luck!

Biotin oral supplements, as well as shampoo and conditioner. I just started mine last week before surgery. (Probably should have started much sooner.) My hair had been thinning some years back, probably due to a combination of stress, genetics and hair abuse. So I started using EQyss Mega-Tek Equine Rebuilder for Mane, Tail, Coat & Hoof, which I buy at a feed store or online. My hairdresser has commented often in recent years on the thickness of my hair, so it works. So even with my new biotin shampoo & conditioner, I'm still putting some EQyss at base of my scalp for a couple of minutes before rinsing. A 16 oz bottle of the EQyss Mega-Tek is about $30, but lasts more than a year. You really need to have used it a full year though before deciding about it, although it does work instantly as a hair volumizer. Best success.

I too am one year out and still stuggle with hair loss. It comes and goes. I drink tons of protein. One thing that has helped it grow back in is Nioxin shampoo system and believe it or not Selson Blue medicated. It has something in it that helps hair grow. It's worked for me.

I am one year out as well and have had a problem with hair loss. My doctor said to be sure to get my protein and also put me on Biotin vitamins and it is working for me. I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner and it seems to help as well. My hairdresser recoommended it.

I have taken Biotin and it didn't help a lot but I recently started taking Black Currant Oil supplements and they have helped a great deal. You can get them online from Nature's Sunshine. You can look up info on them too. They help with nail hair and skin. But I found while I was taking them the amount of shedding I had decreased a lot. When I stopped taking them it increased again. So I'm going to take them again. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!

Zinc, worked for me & was the first thing that was recommended by my doc. (Since my hair has come back, it is fuller & wavy & curly even - always had dead straight hair for 40 years - wierd or what?!?!)

I asked my doctor about this so I would know before it happens, and he said biotin and zinc would do the trick!
