Question:
diet pills

Has anyone tried diet pills along with surgery, after finding themselves to slow down on the weight loss with still a significant amount of weight to loose (80-100 lbs.)    — lady-k (posted on December 29, 2005)

Katherine: I saw your profile, and you are a beautiful lady inside and out. I caution you against using diet pills, particularly because I too have a seizure disorder. Diet pills can bring seizures on in people who are prone to them, so please do not take another step before consulting your Doctor. I belong to a few online support groups for gastric bypass, and find them invaluable. Feel free to write me at [email protected] if I can be of support to you. God bless, my dear! -Pam

Katherine, No diet pills -- no need. My partner had the surgery 2 years ago this past October -- she loses -- slows down -- loses -- slows down -- she hasn't gained any weight. Now she has to purchase new shoes because her feet have gotten smaller. Each body is different --however, one thing her surgeon told her about when the weight loss will stop -- your body will tell you. Just continue your workout and eating regiment and you will be okay.

Diet pills didn't help us pre-op or none of us would need surgery. They are not good for you they work temporarily, speed up your heart and jack up your blood pressure. Weight loss does slow down after some time and it comes to a point where the rest has to be done by us in terms of propper eating chpices and exercise. If you stick with the plan you will continue to lose. Good luck to you!!!

When I had a significant amount of weight loose I was taking my vitamins and minerals very seriously on a daily basis and I was following my nutrionist instruction with my eating habits. What help me the most in boosting my weight loss every time I reach a plateau was exercising and also taking my chromium picolinate on a daily basis 1/2 hour before my meal once a day.
