Question:
Skin trouble (hard and numb spots) resulting from obesity?

I have a really huge round spot under my belly button bigger than a softball. Its hard as a rock! I haven't had my surgery yet and I know it isnt a tumor or anything. It has left a numb feeling to my skin also. I have another one one my right inner leg. My Dr seems to think it is from the skin rubbing things. Also does anyone know if this will disappear after my WLS? I put lotion on every day but its not dry just really hard inside. PLease email me if you've had this problem or post me please. sounds like time for a 2nd opinion from a different Dr.

I'd definitely check with another doc. First thing I thought of was a hernia when you wrote of the belly button but not on the leg. And its interesting that the numbness only acompanies these hard spots. If you have a big belly one thing to keep in mind is that you can outgrow the blood supply and have trouble that way. Your fatty tissue can become necrotic, even affecting the skin. If I were you I'd push further on this.

The hard part could be a herina so get it checked!! And the numbness...goes away with time. My c-section left a spot on my lower ab that is still a bit numb, two years later, but its going away.
