Question:
Has anyone developed cubital/carpal tunnel post op?

I never had a problem with numb fingers or waking up at night with numb ahnd untill I lost 126 lbs in 11 mos. Believe me I am not complaining just wondered if anyone else has had this problem. I went to the OR in Feb for the left and scheduled to go to OR next week for the right. It seems many people got better with this problem I got worse. Of course I'll take thin with four arm scars over morbid obesity any day!!!!!    — MARY E. (posted on May 4, 2001)

Hi, repetitive motion is not the sole cause of carpal tunnel syndrome (according to my doc that did my carpal tunnel surgery). He said in many cases it's because of "the way we're built". In my case, I had a large body and that was causing the carpal tunnel to sort of squash down and cause numbness and pain. You could be putting more pressure on your hands while sleeping or any number of other things. I now have cubital tunnel syndrome in my left arm...why? I have no idea. I only know it hurts like heck and I've been getting physical therapy on it since January. Hugs, Joy M.

I had carpal tunnel surgery before surgery on my right hand. I was disturbed to find that I started to feel that old feeling again after surgery...someone recommended that it could be related to a B12 need...I started supplementing with sublingual B12...and it went away. Don't know if this is what it was or not... Okie

Hi Okie, The B12 definitely helps, it is used by your central nervous system. Im having nerve problems myself and have consulted with my dr. U have to keep taking it, it is VERY important as your other vitamins are too. Sena
