Question:
I'm 6 weeks post op and i'm concerned that i'm not going to loose any more weight.

I've lost 27lbs so far but at a stand still. Is this normal? i recovered very quickly from the lap band and found i was able to eat pretty much anything after 3 weeks.    — g_laurin (posted on February 3, 2009)

27 lbs in six weeks is great. The scale can stall at times. Just be gentle with your self. You will lose more as they adjust the band.

I'm at about the same place. I'm also about 6 weeks out. Had the surgery right around Christmas. I've lost 21 lbs and healed quickly to find I can eat anything. So I know what you are going through. I found that the old diet rules still apply: exercise, eat right, drink lots of water. When I do all three, I begin to lose weight again. Slowly, but surely. And with my lap band tool now, I can do it with several small meals throughout the day instead of gaining weight by eating a couple of gigantic meals like I used to do. Just remember, be patient, follow the diet plan, exercise, and the pounds will come off.

Congratulations on your success to date. I was banded on April 29, 2008 and am down over 70 pounds. About three months after surgery I was at a stand still for about two weeks, then it started to come off again. Be sure to get enough water in each day, monitor your portions and calorie intake and exercise. It'll drop off without any problem again. Best of luck to you with your new lifestyle. You'll be thrilled that you chose the lapband - I know I am!
