Pos-Op Labs

I'm wondering what post-op labwork should be done to monitor my health. So far my surgeon hasn't ordered any!    — Angel (posted on October 31, 2005)

Just so happens I have mine here in my hand. My Doctor does them every three months. I have a B1,Complete Metabolic, cbc, Transferrin, Iron , Iron Binding, Folate and Vit B12, Ferritin, all have been great. I am eight months out with RNY open. Hope this helps. Bobbie

I get blood testsat first, every three months, and now , every six months. I get folate, H1aC, B12, Cholesterol, and some others I can't think of right now.

I would call your surgeon and remind him that you need to get blood work done. I can't believe he didn't remember. Karen
