Question:
Soft Foods

I had my band put in on the 9th and have been on liquids. On wed the 15th my Dr. told me I could start to try soft foods, but everything that i have tried has made me sick. So I just have been sticking to liquids. I can tell you that my band is not full because they had to empty it on the 9th in recovery due to me having some problems. What should I do???    — Jennpink15 (posted on April 18, 2009)

I had smooth yogurt (like lemon chiffon, or banana cream, or key lime), and fat-free-sugar-free instant pudding that you mix up with 2 cups of fat free milk. I also had 2% cottage cheese mixed with a quarter teaspoon of dry original (buttermilk) hidden valley ranch mix, and I could have EggBeaters and Taco Bell refried beans thinned with a little beef broth if I wanted them. The trick is to eat TEENY TINY BITES, and chew them 30 times if you can before swallowing. Some people start with their favorite hot breakfast cereal, like malto-meal or cream of wheat. But so far, those are what worked for me.
