Question:
Any use in trying?

Is there any use in trying to get rid of the excess skin, more so what i am exactly asking is, is there any exercises I can do to get rid of the excess skin? I do exercise but I'm guessing my body had gotten too big and my skin is so far past its limit. Pics are available on my page for this specific question, the album title is excess skin. Thanks for any help. Nina15137    — Nina15137 (posted on June 27, 2010)

There is always use in trying... however, exercise can only do so much to tighten skin. It can tone the muscle underneath, but then it becomes a matter of elasticity, collagen, etc. You always want to work out and do everything that you can, but there is only so much that you can do. I looked at your pictures, and it looks to me like you would be a great candidate for a tummy tuck. Often, if the skin hangs over to the point that it rubs, interfears, can cause yeast infections, or is just generally problematic... INSURANCE WILL PAY for this one bit of cosmetic surgery post gastric bypass. You have to find a surgeon who specializes in tummy tucks after gastric bypass because he/she will know how to massage the system. You will have a scar (better than the skin in my opinion). I'll be getting mine in December, all expenses paid. Best of luck and great job. You look AMAZING <3<3<3

It is not ideal but it is not gross! Be careful how you deal with self image issues, for me that was a sure way to sabotage myself! Although I hated how I looked, my boyfriend loved every inch of me. We met after I lost the weight, he hated the idea that I wanted to go back for more surgery. Continue to exercise and enjoy the change. If you still want to get rid of it, find a good surgeon. When I heard of the type of scar after a total body tuck and an arm lift I changed my mind. You are very beautiful, nothing will ever change that! :-))

From what I've been told, you can probably expect to see SOME improvement in this next year as your body adjusts. And your youth should work in your favor. You have nice legs, so at least you can wear a one-piece bathing suit. Best success.
