What causes ulcers

Ulcers can be caused by two things, stress or h pylorie virus. The virus can be treated but can continue to come back. The stress ulcers go away on their own when the stress is eased. I had a stress ulcer when I was having husband problems. It went away when things got somewhat better. Now I got rid of him and darn ulcer will not be sticking its nasty nose up at me again...I hope. A major cause of ulcers is Helicobacter pyloriir 'H-pylori' for short. A Nobel prize was awarded to th person who did the groundwork investigation of this. Here's a link where you can investigate further for yourself: http://www.helico.com/h_general.html

In addition to the previous answers, anti-inflammatory type medicines can cause ulcers as well. Dawn Vickers, RN, BLC, CLC
