Question:
Hi, I am 6 months out and I was wondering

If my insurance company covers the TT, and or the Breast Lift. I am not for sure if I am going to need the TT or not, but most definitley am going to have to have my breast lifted. I have PEIA, I live in WV. Any others out there have my insurance and been successful getting these things approved? Thanks Open RNY OCT 4, 2001, Bariatric Treatment Centers of Columbus Ohio, -84 lbs and counting, Thanks Dr. Christopher Kaczmarski. You go Doc!!!    — TONYA B. (posted on April 20, 2002)

Tonya: Insurance companies are giving more and more approvals for all reconstructive surgeries, perhaps due to the increase in WLS and patients being assertive and demanding this benefit. I've had insurance pay for them all -- arms, breasts, TT, lower body lift and thighs. Every insurance is different (meaning some require more of a fight), but mine were approved immediately w/o the need for appeal, but I notice many more approvals on the OSSG plasticsurgery list for all these procedures. Give it a shot and fight if you have to. If you need or want PS, you deserve it.
