Question:
Is there a small multi-vitamin easy to swallow?

My doc has just recommended coming off the chewables and taking a multi-vitamin for women because of low iron. I bought a generic form of 'Womens one a day' and it is HUGE. I cut them in half and after taking the second half, it got stuck. I was stuck and in pain for a couple of hours and really don't want to do this every day. Has anyone found one that is a reasonable size?    — [Anonymous] (posted on January 24, 2002)

One-A-Day Essentials are the smallest I've found, they even say something about being easy to swallow on the box.

My friend Cindee, found some small ones at Kmart. They are the Kmart brand. I will get some once I run out of my Centrum Liquid that I found at Walmart.

I found a vitamin at Kmart that is as small as an aspirin. This thrilled me, because I can swallow it whole versus cutting it into 4 pieces like I had to before. I checked the daily allowance amounts versus those of Centrum multi, and it is the SAME despite being 1/4 the size, except it's missing the three of four lesser vitamins in Centrum, for instance potassium (which Centrum has only about 13% of the daily allowance anyway). They are called Vitasmart - Multivitamin with Iron. The bottle has a pink lid, and the label is yellow and pink. The bottle itself is a dark see-through color, so you can see the size that way. I love them. It makes it so easy to take my vitamins now. I'm not sure where else you can find them, but definitely in KMART.

I don't know how much this will help, but I was a Women's One A Day person too, and I felt that they were too big. The Wal-Mart brand of the same vitamin is smaller, so I buy that one, and save some money!!!!

I JUST walked in from my three month post op appointment and my doctor told me to get off of chewables and start taking pill form. She recommended One A Day because they are very small like round aspirin. Hope this helps.

I found a tiny multi-vitamin plus iron at Winn Dixie called Naturite and they are cheap...only $3.00 for about 120 tablets.
