Question:
Umbilical hernia and panni on Medicare

I have Medicare and Blue Cross as a secondary. They paid for my band and will pay for the hernia repair. Am wondering if they will bundle for a basic panni as well.    — Eveningblossom (posted on November 3, 2010)

To the best of my knowledge, neither plan will cover a panni unless you can prove continuous skin rashes and infections under the pannis that are unresponsive to medication. And even then, it's very rare. It's considered "cosmetic" surgery and I don't know of any companies that cover cosmetic surgery.
