Question:
How do you get insurance to pay for breast surgery?

I just read Carnie's book. Carnie Wilson said if your skin is sagging and rubbing raw areas you might qualify for plastic surgery paid for by your insurance. So my question is" my boobs are going to be totally saggy when I loseweight as I ballooned up from34c to 42DDDwhen I gained so much weight. So do I have to go braless in order TO show it will rub raw? If I wear a bra the skin wont rub.    — Connie M. (posted on December 15, 2001)

Talk to your doctor. My insurance approved a breast reduction immediatly. I was having sever back pains and huge ridges in my shoulder blades where my bra strap was cutting into it. I wouldn't suggest going braless if at all possible you need that support and you don't want a lot of galding underneath if you do have the surgery. Before my breast reduction I was a 42F now, I'm a 38C. It was the best decision I have ever made. Good Luck!

Finally...I got my "Tips for Getting Your Plastic Surgery Approved" worksheet on my website. It will help individuals who have medically necessary issues get their plastic surgery covered, at least in part, by insurance. Check www.drlomonaco.com under "Patient Resources"
