You are just stalled. Your body is trying to get used to the lack of calories you are taking in now. The only advice I can give is to try to up your calories a little more for a few days. Try to switch things up to fool your body into thinking it's not starving. I only went through one stall. It lasted 9 days then the following week, I lost more weight than I had since surgery. I think the reason I didn't stall very much is because I always kept my body guessing. For instance, during the week, I would pretty much have 6 small portions a day Monday thru Friday. One of those was my coffee protein, and sometimes one would be another protein type shake, but I would have something 6 times a day. On the weekend, I'm usually busier and out of the house (I do in home child care, so it's easy to stay on track with eating 6 times a day) and only ate 3 or maybe 4 small portions a day. The thing was, we usually went out to eat every weekend, so I would probably get more calories on Saturday than I would a week day because during the week I would eat stuff like tuna or something like that. On the weekend I would eat stuff like steak or chicken with cheese sauce. I still couldn't eat much of it, but obviously it was a higher calorie portion than I would have eaten at home. I think the change in how often I ate and how many calories I ate, kept my body guessing and kept me from going into stalls. Good luck.

First off, thanks for posting what type of surgery you had up front. So many don't and it can make a difference in replies. You are doing great with a 32-33 lb. weight loss. I am a little surprised that you can gulp your water. Just take it easy on that so you don't end up with one gulp too much and it coming back up. I am nearly 6 months out and still eat very small amounts. I have even questioned my surgeon about it. He said as long as I was getting in my protein in some way, i.e. shakes, Isopure, bars, that I would be okay. Quite frankly, most days I don't really care if I eat or not. Watch your hair and nails. If you start losing hair or your nails get brittle that is a sure sign of not enough protein. Your diet will progress. Just don't be in too big of a hurry. Your tummy is still healing, and will be for a few more weeks.

Congrat's on your weight loss! The best thing to do to kick start your weight loss again is to increase your protein. Do not go over 29 grams per meal because your body cannot process more than that at a time. What kind of exercise do you do??? Walking is great and should be ok for this stage. As you get further out you can add different kinds of exercise and that will help your weight loss stay a little more consistent. But, you are doing great on your progress. Keep in mind, this is not a quick fix, it still takes time to loose, and plataeus are VERY NORMAL! You should be very proud of yourself! Keep a positive attitude and you will do great!
