Question:
How much will a thigh and butt lift cost? will insurance pay?

I had rxy in May 2001.I started at 245lbs and have lost 94lbs.I am happy with the weight loss BUT I am unhappy about the appearance of my body. Also, I have chronic leg pain(thighs hurt all the time, and I don't know why).I want to have a thigh and butt lift.I live in NY and have MVP-HMO.At the time of my surgery, I had Blue Choice. Will MVP cover any of the cost of a thigh and butt lift? If not how much will it cost?    — MICHELLE R. (posted on February 6, 2004)

My insurance company only paid for the apron to be removed. I did however have a complete lower body lift. The total operation cost the insurance company about $16,000. I paid approximately $5,000 out of that cost. Find the plastic surgeon and discuss it with him. They will usually try to work something out. Good luck in this endeavor

My insurance payed for my TT (BCBS) and they denied my LBL. I need my butt/thighs done, so I am going to self pay. It will cost me somewhere between 7,000.00 - 8,000.00 and that is my Surgeon and Hospital fees, I will be on a 1yr payment plan. Every Surgeon, State and Insurance is different though. Good luck!

Total guess but most likely insurance won't. BCBS approved my full extended abdominoplasty to be done in two stages, but denied the lateral thigh lift portion. My cost is $3400 for the hospital and anesthesiologist and $2547 for the surgeon. The surgeon fee would be twice as high is I was only having the lateral thigh lift done, but because it is secondary to the abdominoplasty the charge is 1/2 price. Thankgoodness. $6000 is enough. My surgery is Feb 23rd.

Highly doubtful the insurance will cover either. I'm paying for my own inner thigh lift and am having the surgery in May. The PS fee is $4200 plus another $2500 for the surgery room and anesthesia.
