Hi, LazyEboy makes a recliner for big guys. It's much wider than most of them. Kinda pricey but you have to pay for the quality. Good Luck. Dan

Hi Rebecca! Try googling "Bariatric Furniture" and go through the results, but please take a deep breath (and maybe a stiff Scotch) first ;-) -- the prices are frightening! Also, have you considered joining your local Freecycle? (www.freecycle.org) It will put you in touch with a community of people who want to keep things out of landfills, so they offer them to others, and it's all free! You can get rid of your unwanted but good stuff, and ask others if they have what you need. I see frequent posts for shower chairs, hospital beds, all kinds of things, both giving and asking. It's free to join, and who knows! Somebody just might have what you need! Good luck! -- Mary

I work for Pride Mobility Products who are the leader in mobility products worldwide. We have liftchairs that can accomodate your father.I don't know what area you live in but you can call Pride's customer care team @ 1-800-800-8586 and they will direct you to a dealer in your area who offers our liftchairs and they can take care of your father's needs. I know we offer two chairs that can accomodate him. I hope this helps.

If you have a "Big Lots" near you or on-line, they have over-sized recliners that are good & cheap.

I found my chair at Big Lots. I weigh 425lbs.I have had my chair for about 2 years and it is still in good shape. I use it daily. I believe I paid 279.00 for it. I hope this has helped.

Lay-Z-Boy has one with built for the 350lbs+ has a re-enforced steel frame. I have one that I am sitting one in right now that I bought about 4yrs ago. I cost me about $450 then. I may weigh 160lbs now, but I love my giant chair!

Other places you might look if used is of interest: www.freecycle.org or www.craigslist.org and click on your area(s). Freecycle is free, Craigslist could be free or used for cheap

a friend just got one for her mother at a store called Degen-Berglan which has a medical supply section. I would try somewhere like that. Check your yellow pages for medical supply listings.
