Question:
I have heard conflictingthings regarding the pouch. My question is,does it ever

stretch to hold a more(normal)amount of food?Iknow from what I've read it seems people 2yrs post-op can eat more than someone say 4 mos post-op.Can we ever eat like a whole sandwich or a whole chicken breast? What about an Egg McMUFFIN?Sorry for all the questions, just wondering what to expect father down the road. Thanks in advance!    — A L. Hi AL, The pouch does eventually stretch in varying degrees depending on how often you overstuff it. I sould say that eventually you may be able to eat an egg Mcmuffin, but who would want to? Do you know how much fat is packed into that little english muffin? Hope this helps!

I had my surgery aug 97, almost 3 years ago. I can eat more then a newly post op. You can eat a whole egg mcmuffin if you can handle eggs which some people can not. I eat a drumstick and a spoon of potatoes and a small spoon of vegs for dinner. I cannot eat what I used to before the surgery. There are days that I feel like I am eating all day long, but it is small things. I can eat one sandwich depending what is on it. I have to take the crust off though it fills me up to much. When I go to McDonalds or that sort I can eat a hamburger and a few fries with it. I mean like 10 fries if that. My stomach defenitely tells me when I am full. I can not drink when I am eating but I can just after my meal. I drink only about 6-8 oz. after my meal. I personally can eat any type of food. But many can tolerate certain foods, like dairy, meat, eggs, and so forth. It takes time to learn what you can and cannot eat or tolerate. I hope I answered your questions the way you wanted. But I have told you my experience of what I can eat. I hope I helped. Good luck to you.

my pouch has streatched maybe bigger then it should be. I know when i first had my surgery I could eat very little, now I know I eat more than I should sometimes, but not too often. Also I overeat when I eat too fast so I am working on that part. I had surgery 2 years ago and I am back on tract to loose the 25 i gained in the last year bty not exercising or eatting the wrong things. So as long as you do what you are supposed to do and follow the rules, do your support groups ask questions and all that you will do fine. We moved and I lost contact with everything than kept me straight. Also when you get to your desired weight you will have to eat more just because if you eat still the same small amount you will lose weight more. Keep in touch. Good luck and there really is nothing to worry about. Even tho I gained I am back on tract and I would do it again in a second. Dawn
